2 Corinthians 3:16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
Spiritual blindness – I can’t think of a diagnosis worse than that. With the veil removed, born-again-blood-believers are able to see the glory of God because the veil is taken away thru Christ.
The inability to discern who the LORD is, what the LORD is doing, what the LORD will do --- to me, that’s just about the worst thing …. To me, that’s total emptiness – that’s being found totally alone. There is no hope in that situation – certainly there can be no peace.
BUT (probably my most favorite word in the Bible), in Christ, the blindness is lifted – the scales fall – the darkness is now light! And….. AND … if you read the next few verses you find that because one is no longer blind, one is able to see, like as if looking in the mirror, the glory of the LORD ---- AND … AND (this is the really cool part…) – and will be being transformed into the same image from glory to glory! The more we look to Christ, the more we see of Christ and the more the Spirit transforms us into His image --- from one level to the next… to the next … to the next!
When the veil is removed, we see that He alone fills our every need; He alone is our hope; He alone is our peace. When the veil is removed we see life eternal. When the veil is removed we see that we will never be alone. When the veil is removed, we know the love of God.
