Psalms 18:1-2 I love you, O LORD, my strength. (2) The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I immediately thought of Jesus’ question to His disciples .. “Who do you say that I am?” – Who do we say Jesus is? I know the many church answers – but … who is He to you personally? I was skimming thru the twitter and Instagram worlds last night … looking for pic of the granddaughter – it seems the thing to do these days is to post a pic of yourself, your friends, your activities, and then do this whole “hash-tag” thing – make a statement about whatever you just posted. One post of a picture of friends had these --- #mytribe, #dangerous, and my favorite…. #watchthis. Another post had these … #datenight & #cuties. My point is – we use words to describe our relationships. Relationships that matter.
What statements do we make about Jesus.? David testified SPECIFICALLY about His LORD and Savior. David had experienced the grand rescue of His life by the power of God and He could not keep quiet. Sadly, as I stalked the twitter and Instagram world … and even the world of facebook, it saddened me to see so very few “hash-tags” the dealt with people’s relationship with the God of creation. And… to be fully honest, the overwhelming majority of the people I “follow” on social media identify as Christ followers. Written declarations like these would be the “tweets”, instagrams, snapchats and facebook posts of David’s day.
Even silence is a statement. At one point, Jesus said that if the people singing His praises suddenly stopped, then the rocks would break out in praise. Rocks weren’t created for that purpose! Today, throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to experience God --- look for them, be ready for them – and then as you experience Him – share it!
