Hiding God's Word in Their Hearts

On Wednesday, March 26th, the church had the privilege of witnessing the fruits of months of labor by the Children's Bible Drill team at FBCO.  Two students qualified for the Spring River Baptist Association competition to be held on April 3rd.

Five youngsters participated in a public Bible drill, while the whole churched watched and several younger drill students assembled in the front rows for moral support.

"We want you to know that we don't just memorize verses," said Wendy Youngberg, instructor.  "We go over the surrounding context of everything we memorize.  It is so much more than just words on a page."  Mrs. Youngberg also explained that she includes younger students because of the importance of God's Word, and in order to prepare them to participate when they are old enough.

For a somewhat humorous finale, Pastor Darin joined in a short drill against some of the team members, Mrs. Youngberg, and at least one other church member.  Pastor Darin claims to have won, but some members of the congregation believed otherwise.

If you can come out to support our kids Thursday, April 3rd, please do so.  The SRBA drill at First Baptist Church in Webb City begins at 7 pm.
